Call for Art Painting | Online Art Exhibition for People with Disabilities – RI AP Region

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on 3 December, is a United Nations-designated day that calls upon the global community to promote the rights, dignity, and well-being of persons with disabilities in every aspect of society. As we unite in observance of this significant day, it serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to foster inclusion, break down barriers, and celebrate the unique strengths and contributions of every individual.

In response to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2026, Fuhong Society of Macau as the RI Asia-Pacific Region Secretariat, we are pleased to launch a call for entries for our themed online exhibition dedicated to people with disabilities. This initiative aims to showcase the creativity, inner thoughts and positive life attitudes of artists with disabilities within the RI community, promote mutual understanding and social inclusion, and build a respectful and supportive artistic exchange platform for all RI AP Region members.

This exhibition accepts painting artworks and is opened exclusively to RI AP Region members. We sincerely invite all eligible members to encourage artists with disabilities in your teams and communities to submit original paintings for this online exhibition.

Below are the updated key details for the artwork submission:

1. Eligibility of Participants

Open exclusively to people with disabilities of all ages who are affiliated with RI AP Region member units. There is no restriction on disability type.

2. Artwork Requirements (Painting Only)

Theme: No rigid theme restrictions. We welcome original paintings that depict daily life, inner emotions, dreams and hopes, or deliver positive values of equality, inclusion, courage and self-improvement.

Accepted Works Type: Paintings only, including watercolor, oil painting, acrylic painting, sketch, pastel painting, gouache and other flat painting creations. Handicrafts, photography, calligraphy and other art forms are not accepted for this exhibition.

Format & Specification: All photos must be submitted in resolution around 100 DPI in JPG, PNG or PDF format, with a single file size not exceeding 10MB. Each creator may submit a maximum of 1 to 3 painting works.

Work Introduction: Please attach a 50–100 words introduction for each painting, including the artwork title, creator’s name, age, optional disability information, and creative inspiration or story.

Originality Commitment: All submitted works must be 100% original creations. The submitting member institution shall bear full responsibility for any copyright disputes arising from the entries.

3. Submission Guidelines

Please collect, verify and sort all eligible paintings from your community creators, then submit all entries as one unified package to the designated official email.

Email Subject Format: [Your RI Member Unit Name] + Photo Submission for Disability Online Exhibition (August 2026)

File Naming Rule: Artwork Title – Creator’s Name – Painting Type

Attachment Requirement: Please attach a consolidated Word/Excel list covering all entries, including artwork information, creator profiles, work introductions and your institutional contact details.

4. Submission Deadline: 31 August 2026

5. Important Notes

All submitted paintings will undergo professional review by the organizing committee. Selected works will be officially displayed in the online exhibition, and all submitting institutions will be notified of the review results via email after the submission deadline.

The organizing committee reserves the non-commercial right to display, promote and publicize all selected artworks for the purpose of this public welfare online exhibition, without additional remuneration. The original copyright of all works remains fully with the creators.

This painting-focused exhibition aims to concentrate the artistic power of the RI AP Region community, highlight the unique artistic expression and spiritual outlook of creators with disabilities, and further advocate social inclusion through pure visual painting art.
